Business Problem: The infrastructure relies on aging IBM Power8® servers that are approaching their end-of-life, creating an urgent need to refresh and modernize the environment to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability for future demands.

Project Scope: Upgrading the IBM Power8® servers to IBM Power10® servers, ensuring a seamless transition to modern, high-performance infrastructure.

  • Achieving approximately 40% cost savings on total hardware costs (CAPEX) by leveraging an IBM hardware exchange program during the server modernization process.

  • Implementing a pools-based software licensing model to enhance flexibility and optimize licensing costs.

  • Proactively addressing and optimizing network flows to enhance security and support robust security hardening measures.

  • Implementing hardware consolidation strategies, optimizing data center floor space for greater efficiency.
