Midrange Environment Insourcing 2019

My Project Role:

IT Architect

Business Problem: Customer’s business need to insource over 200 images, encompassing both virtual machines (VMs) and physical servers for application and infrastructure workloads.

Project Scope: Detailed analysis, collaborative planning with cross-functional teams, and development of a structured framework to ensure seamless migration, operational continuity, and alignment with the customer’s strategic objectives.

  • Acting as the Midrange Domain Architect, representing IBM and collaborating closely with domain architects from both IBM and the customer side.
  • Participating in face-to-face workshops held in Copenhagen, requiring business travel to collaborate directly with customer stakeholders and my account team to define project objectives.
  • Analyzing inputs from workshops to create a detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to guide the project execution.
  • Creating comprehensive end-to-end architectural documentation for the entire insourcing process, ensuring clear handover to the client for seamless future operations and maintenance.
  • Designing IBM Power® Systems and VMware environments to ensure seamless transition.

My Deliverables: Delivered a 1.5-year project that involved relocating workloads from one environment to another in Copenhagen, achieving seamless migration of 200 images and fulfilling the client’s operational goals.
