My Project Role:

Team Lead

Business Problem: Challenge of uniting two geographically dispersed Unix teams from IBM IMT Germany and IBM CIC Brno into a single cohesive team that collaborates effectively despite their distinct locations and organizational backgrounds.

Project Scope: Establishing a unified, cross-country virtual Unix pool with a single reporting line structure to enable seamless cooperation and shared responsibilities between the two newly integrated teams.

  • Acting as the team lead for the IBM IMT Germany Unix team, consisting of 5 members, while coordinating efforts with the Czech team of approximately 20 members.

  • Facilitating initial communication and alignment between culturally and operationally diverse teams, showcasing adaptability and collaboration skills.

  • Evaluating technical strengths and workflows of both teams to ensure the current workload is dispatched according to each team member's strengths, thus enhancing overall team performance.

My Deliverables: Establishing a functional virtual Unix pool that facilitates seamless collaboration and resource sharing between the IBM IMT Germany and IBM CIC Brno teams, laying the groundwork for their unified operations.
